Rikka is an old wooden house at the edge of a village in Nagano. We keep four tatami rooms and cook two meals a day. There is no reception desk, no lift, and very little noise. 六花は、長野の集落のはずれにある古い木造の家です。四つの和室をととのえ、一日に二度の食事をつくっています。帳場も、エレベーターも、物音も、ほとんどありません。
What the days are like一日のこと
Guests arrive in the afternoon, put their skis in the shed, and sit by the stove until dinner. Dinner is at six. Whatever the valley has given us that week is what you will be eating — river fish, mountain vegetables, a pot of something slow. 午後にお着きになって、道具を小屋に置き、夕食まで暖炉のそばでお過ごしになる方が多いです。夕食は六時から。その週にこの谷でとれたものをお出しします。川の魚、山の菜、時間をかけて煮たもの。
Breakfast is a tray: rice, miso soup, grilled fish, three small dishes. We serve it from seven, because the first lift is at eight-thirty and we would rather you were not rushing. 朝食はお膳でお出しします。ごはん、味噌汁、焼き魚、小鉢が三つ。七時からご用意しますのは、最初のリフトが八時半で、慌てていただきたくないからです。
The bath is shared and looks onto the garden. In winter the snow comes up past the window, and you bathe below the level of it. お風呂は共用で、庭に面しています。冬は窓の高さより雪が積もりますので、雪の下で湯につかることになります。
